We are Beddow’n’Battini Studios, a collective of artists from all disciplines. We make the most of the diversity of talent within our collective to tell stories and create characters. We’re always on the lookout for new ways to collaborate and new ways to communicate.
The 100 Word Pilgrimage was our way of exploring new perspectives on the city that has inspired our work over the years. The writers journeyed out first, bringing back one-hundred-word long interpretations of various parts of London. Then the visual artists followed, responding to the writing as they explored the location for themselves.
With all the work assembled, our team of animators set to work bringing these words and static images to life. We created a window into London through the eyes of its inhabitants. This window was in fact the screen of any phone or tablet onto which the augmented reality app, Aurasma, had been downloaded. Using sophisticated image recognition technology combined with an intuitive interface, Aurasma enabled us to create an interactive layer to our work, inviting the audience to step into the pictures and hear the stories spoken to them out loud.
The 100 Word Pilgrimage started with a conceptual journey for each artist, but the destination was a physical art experience for anyone who wanted to take a closer look for themselves. With support from 47/49 Tanner Street, 02 Think Big and the Southwark Arts Forum, the 100 Word Pilgrimage presented a unique opportunity for artists and audience members to learn about their city, their neighbourhood and their community. But with the global community becoming more and more connected, stopping at London is out of the question.
The exhibition may be over, but Beddow n Battini’s Creative Pilgrimage is only just getting started.

London X Nigeria Finished
So a Couple of more days until the show
the pieces are Pretty much finished. Type and everything. if you wanna see the Animation on the other hand you might have to wait until the show on the 23rd of June.
so glad that i took the time out in learning how to use after affects, i have a much better understanding of how things work in the world of moving image....
and the best thing ive learnt to do is to read into moving image more. Try turning the sound off whenever your watching an a film or animation and you'll learn a thing or two. [Thanks to RafiAnimates and Robert Grieves for the insight]

Tom and Jerry Animation Comparison
Tom and Jerry 1960 - Funny home videos are a click away
Tom and Jerry 1960... What does this have to do with My LondonXNigeria Project. Backgrounds. Im most probably going to have a moving background in most of the pictures I would make.
the background in the earlier versions of Tom and Jerry were a lot more Full and fleshed out. Great and effective if your making a piece all about how detailed every area of where your going. but is it all necessary.
I don't think I've got all the time. to be creating full fleshed out backgrounds.
Apparently its because of the costs of things like paints and materials that would be needed. And the time restraints in creating new episodes.
Time restraints are definitely one of my issues at the moment. And I can see why simplifying things would become a lot more efficient in the 1980.
The fact that parts of what i will eb using will be animates means that i should take this into consideration. if things are really detailed but aren't going to get seen in detail then theres room for change.

I could learn from this!
Ive been drawing a lot of Complicated Backgrounds for this project, but i don't have a lot of time!
Life in Nigeria prt 1
This video has a perfect rendition of my experiances in nigerian Cities.
Its full of life and culture, but tbhere is this strange clash between the sun, th atmosphere and the natural environment. Pollution mad traffic, and everyones in a rush.
Trying to capture all of this deffinetly has to do with the colours and what medium to use
